Welcome to the Laboratory of Intelligent Communication Systems. The research at the laboratory is oriented at acquiring both applied and theoretical results in the areas intelligent processing of text data and pictures. We mainly focus on the task of improving web searching using semantic information, building a superior tool for named entity recognition and using semantic information in language modelling. We process pictures as well. Currently, we can automatically identify several types of objects in pictures.
All these tasks are very important for discovering hidden information in mass quantities of data. We are able to find the hidden information and use it to improve difficult tasks like very accurate searching in texts, automatic analysis of large text data (e.g. e-mail communications, posts in forums, blogs, tweets etc), language detection and document sorting. The information from pictures can be used for various tasks from identifying cars to automatic sorting of pictures.
